Interesting Music

Like most everyone, I enjoy almost all kinds of music and have opinions. When I find a song or album that is really good, my tendency is to revisit it every few months for a couple of years. Or until I burnout on it. My taste in music might be a bit out there to some (to each their own), but I would argue that it’s probably great music. As such, I’m going to share what I consider to be some very good songs.

The Clash, Junco Partner: Junco Partner is a cover of a song from the 1950s by The Clash from the album Sandinista, one of the weirdest albums I know of (that’s complimentary because it works). The album sounds quite different from the previous albums because The Clash borrowed from many different genres of music but it’s excellent once you’ve listened to it a few times and removed some songs.

Towa Tei, Technova: This is one of those songs that sounds absolutely classic during the first listen. This song also came out in 1995 which I think is rather surprising considering the electronic sounding nature of the song. If anyone likes vinyl, the Technova single record is very cheap and has some excellent versions of Technova.

Actress, Jardin: Jardin doesn’t sound like any other song by Actress, a dj who I still have trouble coming to terms with, but who I also would love to see live. Regardless, this the most relaxing and meditative song I know.

Mac DeMarco, Another One Instrumentals: Before the release of the album This Old Dog, I had gotten kind of sick of Mac DeMarco. And then I came across an instrumentals only version of his album Another One, which is lovely.
